Organization
The Pacific Basin Telehealth Resource Center (PBTRC) is a federally funded technical assistance center located at the University of Hawai‘i as part of the Telecommunications and Social Informatics Program / Pacific Health Informatics Data Center (TASI/PHIDC). TASI/PHIDC is a unit of the University of Hawai‘i Social Science Research Institute of the College of Social Sciences that conducts interdisciplinary and applied research and provides policy, program, technical assistance, education, and training in Hawai‘i and the Pacific Islands Region related to:
- Accessible and affordable Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Health Information Technology (HIT)
- Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Healthcare and claims data management, analytics, and programs
- Telehealth
- Meteorological and disaster communications
Affiliations
PBTRC is an affiliation of the 14 Telehealth Resource Centers funded individually through a cooperative agreement from the Health Resources & Service Administration, Office for the Advancement of Telehealth.
National Telehealth Resource Centers
There are two national telehealth resource centers:
- The National Telehealth Technology Assessment Resource Center provides vendor neutral information and technical assistance related telehealth systems and technologies.
- The Center for Connected Health Policy (CCHCP) is a national telehealth resource center that is focused on telehealth policy. CCHCP tracks telehealth policy at national and state levels.
Regional Telehealth Resource Centers
There are 12 regional telehealth resources centers that collectively provide expert service to all of the US States, Territories and US-Affiliated Pacific Islands. Collectively, the 12 regional and two national resource centers make up the National Consortium of Telehealth Resource Centers.
