The Path for 2023
During the COVID-19 pandemic, individuals seeking healthcare faced a number of issues that hindered them from receiving the proper care. In particular, the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) and Houseless populations were heavily affected.
Do you serve the ALICE and Houseless communities? Let’s convene to share experiences and discuss how we can implement telehealth appropriately for these vulnerable populations.

Maternal Telehealth & Home Visitations For Prenatal Care – Hawaiʻi Disparities & Access Issues
Dr. Men-Jean Lee shared a landscape of the maternal-fetal medicine healthcare system including barriers to prenatal care, social determinants of health, and useful telemedicine technologies. In addition, Dr. Lee presented an overview of the MI-Home Program created during the COVID-19 pandemic that addressed prenatal, postpartum, lactation, newborn and family care in a patients home or shelter.

Mr. Kaala Souza presented about the impacts of digital divide, shared digital literacy resources available throughout Hawai’i and ways to get connected. Additionally, PBTRC provided an update on the progress of the Library Telehealth Access Point Project (LTAPS).
